It’s a miracle. The past few days have been absolutely hell for Yankee fans. We were all wondering what is the status for our Cy Young Ace Gerrit Cole. And we got it.

Thank goodness because for a second, I thought we were getting Tommy John surgery, but what a miracle! Now of course it’s not good as you would hope as maybe when he eventually does come back in the summer, he re-injured it again and that would suck. You would’ve hoped that this never happened as we could’ve seen Gerrit Cole as our opening day starter but rather have this than have the announcement saying “Gerrit Cole would need Tommy John Surgery and will be out until mid 2025”.

Now when does Cole come back?

As of now 1-2 months he will be shut down then he will have an extended spring training so I am looking at around late June to right after the All-Star break. Similar to what Carlos Rodon did last year only this time Gerrit Cole will hopefully not pull a Rodon 2023 statline.

This could be a huge blessing in disguise because if you can Cole back around the All-Star break, then we have our ace in mid-season form in the playoffs without him having to pitch 200+ innings. A healthy rotation of Cole, a bounce-back Rodon, a strong Stroman, Nestor, and Solid Clark would be a nightmare to opposing teams come playoff time. I am being optimistic about it so hopefully come October that what’s gonna happen.

One response to “The Yankees had a huge miracle in Gerrit Cole.”
